Testimonials

"Moving away from Chicago, we wanted to take something with us that captured the vibe - gritty and vibrant, urban but homey - of the city, and especially our neighborhood, Rogers Park.

Emily's brushwork brings it all to chaotic life, even as the use of light and shadow somehow slow it all down. Our painting shows the balance of the real and imagined Chicago we hold in our hearts."

Commission a Painting

I accept painting commissions! Commissioned projects for 2010 now available in oil or aqua-media. My subjects include people, portraiture, house portraits, animals and urban landscapes. I work from multiple photographs taken on site to create an original composition that captures the spirit of the subject.

The Process

I can take photographs on location or use digital images that you provide. The proposed composition and work in progress is e-mailed to you at specified phases for approval. Turn-around time for a painting can range from 2 to 6 months depending on the size and complexity of your painting. Estimates will include dry time for oil paintings.

Pricing

Prices are based on size, complexity and media (custom frames can be added to any order). Oil paintings start at approximately $1000 + tax; Watercolors start at $250 + tax. Request a quote:
